The standard flyer in the US is letter size, 8.5 × 11 inches: 2550 × 3300 pixels at 300 DPI. Half sheets (5.5 × 8.5) and quarter sheets (4.25 × 5.5) are the cheaper handouts.
Elsewhere, A5 (14.8 × 21 cm) is the everyday flyer and A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) the large one; DL (9.9 × 21 cm) fits racks and envelopes.

Print it right
Most printers ask for 0.125 inches (3 mm) of bleed on each side: the background runs past the cut so no white edge shows. A letter flyer becomes 8.75 × 11.25 inches with bleed, or 2625 × 3375 pixels at 300 DPI.
Keep text and logos about 0.25 inches (6 mm) inside the cut, and check your printer's template.
