Empty a furnished room, then stage it

Dated furniture, boxes and family photos make a room look smaller and older in the listing. Choose "Empty a furnished room" and the AI erases the furniture, rugs and clutter and keeps the walls, windows, curtains and floor where they are. Then stage the empty room in the style that fits the buyer, or tick "Clear current furniture" to do both in one go.

It is made for occupied homes, rentals with tenants and estate sales, when moving everything out for the photo shoot is not an option. Removing furniture is a digital alteration too, so the label for that mode reads "Furniture digitally removed".

AI virtual staging vs. traditional home staging

Traditional staging means renting furniture and paying a stager. The National Association of REALTORS® 2025 Profile of Home Staging puts the median cost at $1,500 when a staging service does it and $500 when the seller's agent stages the home. Online virtual staging services charge per photo, from under $1 to about $20 for AI tools and around $20 to $60 when a person edits it (prices published by staging services, October 2026). Disclose virtual staging on the MLS

Buyers need to know that the furniture in a photo is not there. The NAR Code of Ethics asks REALTORS® to present a true picture in their advertising and, in Standard of Practice 12-10, rules out misleading images. Many MLSs require virtually staged photos to say so, and California's AB 723, in force since January 1, 2026, also requires access to the original, unaltered photo.

Keep the original photo, check your own MLS rules for the exact wording, and never use staging to hide defects. That is why the AI never repaints walls, swaps light fixtures or changes floors, windows or cabinets.

Start with the rooms buyers care about most. In the NAR 2025 report, buyers' agents ranked the living room (37%), the primary bedroom (34%) and the kitchen (23%) as the most important rooms to stage. Then show flexible spaces as what buyers are looking for, such as a spare room staged as a home office or a nursery.

In the kitchen, the cabinets, counters and appliances stay exactly as they are; the AI adds bar stools, a bowl of fruit and a few accessories.
