The right size, explained

YouTube recommends a banner (channel art) of 2560×1440 pixels. The minimum is 2048×1152 at 16:9, and the file has to be 6 MB or smaller. At 2048×1152, the safe area for text and logos is the 1235×338 strip in the center; at 2560×1440 that is about 1544×423.

YouTube says the image should fill the whole screen on larger devices, but it gets cropped on some views and devices. Keep your channel name, your face and any logo inside the safe area.

What size should a YouTube banner be?

Upload 2560×1440 pixels (at least 2048×1152 at 16:9, up to 6 MB) and keep text and logos inside the safe area in the center: 1235×338 at 2048×1152, about 1544×423 at 2560×1440.

Why does my banner look cut off on mobile?

YouTube crops the banner differently on each view and device. Text and logos outside the safe area in the center can be cut on some of them.

Can I use the same art for YouTube and Twitch?
